TIMCO To Provide Support for Purple Heart Homes

Variety of Fundraising and Volunteer Events Planned for Veterans Support Group

GREENSBORO, NC—26 September, 2013 … In appreciation for those who have given so much to their country, TIMCO Aviation Services (“TIMCO”) is launching support for Purple Heart Homes (“PHH”), an organization dedicated to providing new housing and pathways toward an improved quality of life for service connected, disabled veterans. The new relationship will be ongoing and will include financial and company-wide volunteer support on PHH projects.

TIMCO and PHH celebrated the start of the relationship at a fundraising cook-out at the company’s Greensboro, North Carolina headquarters facility. All funds raised for PHH by employees during the lunch will be matched by the company. Additionally, PHH confirmed that a candidate Marine veteran has been selected and a house in the Greensboro community has been identified and procured for rehabilitation. TIMCO employees will join other PHH supporters in renovating the home for a target move-in by Veterans Day in November.

Kevin Carter, CEO of TIMCO said, “About forty percent of our TIMCO family are veterans or active military, and we heard from many of them who sought support for an organization that helps veterans severely injured in the course of their service for their country.” He added, “We are especially excited that our relationship with PHH will enable engagement by TIMCO employees who might want to show their own, additional support for this worthy cause through volunteering or participating in what we hope will be a number of fundraising campaigns throughout the year.”

After PHH identifies candidate veterans and secures potential home properties in communities near their families and friends, volunteers from sponsoring organizations like TIMCO are given the opportunity to help with the renovation and construction of the new homes. PHH further helps the veterans gain greater dignity as active and productive members of society by helping them to secure jobs and navigate the complexities of home ownership.
